National Coordinator Visits Carribean Countries

During January and February of this year. Phil Barnett, our National Coordinator visited Trinidad, Curacao and Barbados, visiting meditators and giving seminars and retreats. This is the second visit by the National Coordinator to this area as part of a program by the CCMC to support meditation there. A full report can be found in the News Section.

Canadian Council Appoints National Youth Coordinator

It can seem as though anxiety fuels our culture, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and directionless. Youth and young-adults are exponentially experiencing greater pressures and are bombarded by competing messages, yet many are searching for spiritual meaning and purpose to find balance in their lives. A personal meditation practice may be the key. The Canadian Christian Meditation Community (CCMC) recognizes this and has begun to actively reach out to them.

James Alison to Speak at John Main Seminar 2010

At this year's John Main Seminar to be held in Canterbury UK 5-8 August, priest, Author and Theologian James Alison will speak on the subject: The Shape of God's Affection. He will offer something like a refresher course on basic Christianity reminding us what the God News about God really is. The seminar will be proceeded by a retreat led by Fr. Laurence Freeman entitled: Practice Makes Perfect.

Christian Meditation and Children – Calling all Teachers

There are a number of world-wide initiatives to include children and teens within our meditation communities. We are currently interested in supporting some teachers who are willing to include daily meditation in their classroom routines.
